ndbilly
is it true that with crown jewlers credit card there is no credit check. I have read this on the web but have a hard time believing it.any info would be deeply appreciatedsince 02/07 I have had a total of 34 deletions from all 3 CB's
CleverCynic
Yep, no credit check and reporting to all 3 CRA's. Terribly overpriced though and down payments required for purchase. Last resort trade line. If you don't use most of the credit line, they'll reduce your limit from $1500 to $750 or so I think I've read.
iPerformer
Yes there is no credit check. I have an account with Crown Jewlers and it will help your credit out. But tou will have to pay a down payment on you first purchase. When you pay that off you will not have to pay the down payment again. I think they are a little expensive on the jewlery, but it might be worth it to you if you are trying to rebuild your credit.

With time they slowly reduce the down payment amount, but it's NOT after the first purchase. They also only report $500 as your CL unless you make enough purchases to equal 6 months of either $50 or $75 each month. All in all, just open an account and buy something cheap for the easy CL. Also, you must purchase something before they will report.
onthedot
It did give me a pretty good pop on my credit scores though. I think it's worth doing.

CleverCynic
I might bite the bullet on this one with my recent denials. I'm gonna leave it up to Cap 1 though. If they deny me then I will maybe get it for my 4th trade line.

jetscarbie
CJ is pretty good for people with no credit or bad credit. Of course when my scores improve, I will get rid of it.My hubby actually was looking to get a watch so that is what he got a CJ. He probably spent more than he wanted to but he knows it will help put some positive on his report.

isislc
Yeah, I figured I would get earings or something and I got a neat coupon to use for it to reduce my down payment.
scottb99
What is the quality of their jewelry like? Does it look cheap or is it good quality stuff?
CleverCynic
It's the same quality as anywhere else, but they are strictly retail pricing. They don't go by the "street" price that almost all other stores do.

I think they go in 250 incroments. so spend 501-750 get a 750 CL, 751-1000 get a 1000 CL.. and so forth
aadam101
500 is ok too. I have two CO's and nothing else on my report anymore. I need to rebuild somehow. The email says 1500. Is that not true?
