Corig
Is one able to begin a debt validation process AFTER being served a summons to appear in court? Also, much of the summons is illegible - copied with little marks all over the paper - and my signature does not appear anywhere. My understanding is that I have to file a response, in person or via mail, and show up for the hearing. The amounts, from two different cards, I think have grown enormously due to late fees and interest. I'm being sued by Resurgence, and the paperwork includes items from Unifund, American Debt Sales, Metris and Bank One - it's very confusing.I think the statute of limitations occurs in October - they were charged off in 2002 I'm pretty sure and I think credit cards in Illinois have five years.PLEASE HELP ME - PLEASE ADVISE - CAN ANYONE MAKE SENSE OF THIS?
