JUSBNICE
I am very frustrated with this account. I had cingular back on 1999 for a year. I decided NOT to renew the contract do to poor and uncompetent account managing from the company. I waited for the contract to expire, so I could sign up w another company, this time was Verizon, much better! I was with verizon for about 2 years then I decide to go to T-mobile, best company ever. Anyway I got a phone call back in 2005 in regard to an account balance I had with CINGULAR for $1480.00 dollars. I was shocked...I asked them how in the world i had a balance with them if I haven't had Cingular for Years???????I was explained that the contract was automatically renewed, that I never paid the montly bills, and late charges and whatever they said accured to total this balance of $1480.00 dollars.I was beyond myself. I couldn't believe some one will renew a contract without your authorization, never send you a bill then attempt to collect a debt after alomost 5 years???... I pulled out my Credit Report and there it was a charge off !!!!! I have been dealing with this ridiculous situation for about 2 years now since I found out about it. I have disputed with the Bureaus, I have asked for DV with OC, DV with CA. I haven' t gotten ONE response from anybody. I don't know what to do at this point. I believe, this is absolutely ridiculous and also offensive and damaging to my financial integrity and character. I absolutely refuse to pay for their mistakes! Cingular is a HORRIBLE company to deal with when it comes to bills. I had them and left them for TMobile like you becaue of a huge billing mistake. It took months to get the billing fiasco straightened out and even then it wasn't absolutely correct. In the end we paid them and ported out.As for what to do...DVing isn't for the OC first off. I'm assuming it's with a CA now? If so, did you get a dunning letter?
