fraud alert

To remove a fraud alert you'll need to request it in writing. You'll have to include (copies of the following documents where appropriate---not the original) your:

  • name
  • social security number
  • current and previous addresses
  • date of birth
  • drivers license, and
  • telephone number.

Send it to the fraud department of the credit bureaus where the alert has been placed. I'd also suggest using certified mail or overnight shipping. You want to be able to track a letter that has all that critical data. You could also just wait the 90 days for the alert to expire.

Hello guys, I disputed 2 very old debts with transunion and equifax and they were removed but in the process i got fraud alerts on all 3 CRA anyway to remove this ? they say they stay for 7 years !

Did your scores go up at all? If they were "very old" it probably didn't help the scores much to have them removed but I'm curious as to how much.

EXPERIAN Refuses to Delete, even with fraud alert

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All,

I placed a fraud alert on my file to see if Experian would delete inquires. I disputed 10 of the 15l as not mine . I recvd a letter from them today stating that

"by law your personal CR must list all who have requestd info. Requests remain on your report for up to 2 years. Accoring to the FCRA, businesses with a permissible purpose may view your information. SOme examples are: current creditors to monitor accounts, other creditors who want to offer preapproved credit, etc."

Now I'm thinking. If that's the case wouldn't these people do soft pulls instead of hard pulls?

HELP!

I would really like to get these deleted. If I could do that then it would be a great accomplsihment.

I'm going to send another letter? Should I call them directly and what will I say?

-

My initial letter was sent to the company but I did not request that they send it to fraud the fraud dept. I assumed that if I requested a fraud alert that they would send it to fraud. Maybe that's where I messed up.

I appreciate any feedback

Hey

I called Experian today and asked why they refused to delete the inquiries , considering that I have a fraud alert on my file.

The young lady that I spoke to told me that I had to call each creditor and ask for an affidavit of Fraud, get a police report to have the item removed.

Well, it was worth a try
