bassbiz
Can someone explain what this is? With the summons I received, there was also an attachment of a Notice of Case Assignment and Notice of Case Management review. As of today there is no trial date set and the form says the case will be ready for trial within 12 months of the date of the filing of the complaint. The form states that there is NO APPEARANCE NECESSARY. There is a scheduled case management review on August 27, 2007, which I am being told the Attorney for Asset Acceptance will be present and the judge who has been assigned the case. Should I be attending this? Or is this just some courtesy notice that you're going to become the topic of discussion that very fine day?
unusualsuspect
This is for the plaintiff to show the court what kind of documentation they have on you. Your attendance is not required if you have an attorney... if you don't then you need to go. All of this is predicated on you answering the original complaint. bassbiz
OK. I did answer to the original complaint. I don't have an attorney, so what typically happens during the case management review?
unusualsuspect
Basically they will schedule any future hearings and report on the progress as the case proceeds.
