Reply from TU...what the heck does this mean??

Recommended Posts

In the mail today I received a letter from Transunion. I have 2 current disputes out with TU so I figured it must be something regarding one of them. Alas, I have NO IDEA what the heck this letter means or WHY i was sent to me:

"Thank you for contacting TransUnion, blah, blah, blah.

RE: Verification documents not available

We store information in our records as it is supplied to us by creditors. When information is disputed, we are required to investigate and record the current status of the information. We do not provide dispute verification responses received from creditors. If you need to obtain documentation or written verification concerning your accounts, then please contact your creditors directly.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact TransUnion at the address shown below, blah, blah, blah."

Is this their way of "opting out" of MOV requests? I didn't ask for one, however, as I'm still trying to understand this letter the thought popped into my head.

What a bunch of whack jobs....

Are we saying that they send out these stall letters, but still go ahead and actually process the dispute?

Exactly. They send me that stall letter nearly every time I dispute and I NEVER respond, yet, I still get results. If you do answer, it gives them the ability to extend your dispute by 15 days.

I got a similar blah blah blah letter from TU Friday. They just added a sentence saying that they needed proof of my identity, ie; photocopy of DL and SSN, and any other documents that they can use to verify that I am who I say I am...

So based on the last 2-3 posts, I should wait them out?
