Erica.cobb
Hi all,Can a Collection agency put a negative on your Credit Report without sending you some kind of a letter first? Or does it really matter?Any response would be helpful!
merkurfan
First, welcome! Second if your handle here is your name, it is extreamly wise to change it asap. CA's tend to troll these sites and can try to use what we discuss aginst you. And if we give you advice to handle them we've just shown them your play book As to your question. Can they? Yes. But they have to send you a letter with-in 5 days explaining why. Now, they can say they did and it is impossiable to prove they did not. if something has just been added to your CR, just beat them to the punch with a DV. Just state that you noticed they posted to your CR on such and such a date and that it is first contact with you. Then state you feel your DV is with in the 30 days if initial contact.
