Can you sucessfully repair your credit with no money? I have many, and I mean many, collection accounts on all three of my reports. I have not yet started the process because I cannot afford to pay them any money. I was wondering if anyone had any success removing baddies without having the pay them?

Well, it depends on how hardcore you are willing to be. If you're fed up and determined, you can get in there and kick a$$. The truth is, CAs know most people won't sue them. They break the law. A lot. In fact, in all the credit repair I've done for myself and others, I've had ONE CA validate correctly (And they got sued anyhow, since the info they furnished didn't match what the OC sent) and ZERO reported accurately to CRAs. If you give these yahoo's enough rope, they all hang themselves. In the past four months I actually made $2700 in settlements, just by threatening to sue (Well, I did actually have to file twice, but they settled out of court.)

However, cleaning up your credit may wake sleeping giants. If you have debts that are not out of SOL, you might end up having to pay up.

What debts do you have? Are they large? Are they out of SOL? Are you willing to dig in and fight? Ya' gotta' get mad.

-r<--------Never paid a CA anything.

Most of them are under 1000. I do have a huge one (8000.00) from a repoed car back in 2004. Capital One did sue me and has a judgement. I owe them about 1400.00. I talked to the attorney, and they wouldn't accept anything less than 500 monthly. They are probably starting garnishment as we speak. I cannot afford that. The rest are medical bills from when I was put in the hospital back in 2002 with no health insurance. Didn't qualify for gov't assistance either. I did have one CA that kept calling me so I did send them a CD Ltr. Havn't heard from them since. My ultimate goal is to buy a house and quit paying someones mortgage and making them money. I can afford postage and stuff like that. Just was wondering if anyone had any luck. I didn't mean to ramble or explain my whole life story, but just didn't know what to do. I really do appreiciate everyones input. Thanks!!!! BTW: Are medical bills considered open accounts?
