eakub
I pulled my credit reports today and there was a notice at the bottom of Equifax that says the following business is associated with this address. Then it gives the name of the business and MY address. Umm... what does that mean? Cause it certainly isn't my wood manufacturing business! LOL! I have lived at this address for 8 years and the guy who lived here before us (I know for a fact) is a pharmacist. So should I be worried that this is on my CR? Or does it mean nothing at all? lhslancers
Call and have it removed if you can. Equifax is fairly easy with this. If it was on your Experian report and it was connected to a tradeline it might take an act of God to remove it. Call them and tell them you are concerned with identity theft but make it clear you don't feel it is imminent. You don't want a fraud alert. Equifax removed all but my current address. So did Transunion.
eakub
Hmm... could it be from the people who originally lived in the house? They were renting the house out to the pharmacist guy from about 10 years... then my in-laws purchased the house about 8 years ago as an investment property... then they just decided to let my husband and I live in the house. LOL! So this would have been like 20 years ago. Hmm... or someone is up to no good... one of the two.
Macwench
Mine is a business address too. Makes no difference that I have seen (and mine actually is a business - our apt. is on the back!!). My PO Box also shows as a previous business address.
eakub
Yeah...but I don't have a business! LOL! So it would have had to have been something REALLY old from a previous owner of this address. It's some wood manufacturing business... or so the name would imply. While far fetched you might be implicated indirectly. This is why Experian sucks so bad. They'll never remove the address if it connected to a TL of yours open or closed as long as it is reportable. eakub
Okay... went to experian's website and looked at my report again. I attempted to dispute the business thing online but a pop up window comes up and tells you to call a 1-800 number if you feel this is an error. Okay... fine... called the 1-800 number, got to the part about personal info, then to the part about notices, then it says that it is there for fraud protection and that it tells potential creditors that they need to investigate me more so they don't get screwed blah blah blah. Then it just skips back to the menu again and doesn't allow you to dispute it at all. WTF?! So... what should I do now? Do I need to attempt to do this by writing to them? Or should I just forget it?
