problems with LVNV

Hi board. I am a newbie, first time poster, long time reader. I have been trying to fix credit with 3 deletions/100 points worth of success. My last hurdle is with LVNV. I took the veterans advice and used the search button, and I read every article that I could get my hands on.

here's where I stand. I disputed with LVNV and the CRA's and they both came back valid so I guess their ducks are in a row. I then wrote LVNV to try to get a paid for deletion. They responded saying that the best they could offer me was an 80% settlement with no deletion (they must report accurately to the credit reporting agencies) thats where my question comes in. From what I have been reading, I should keep disputing, keep disputing, keep disputing. But what im also reading is that LVNV is cut from a different cloth than several other CA's. I am in a financial situation where I can afford to pay, should I just take it on the chin and pay them? Any advice, help, etc. would be greatly appreciated!!!!

p.s. I have 2 hurdles remaining, one is crap one and the other LVNV. I really know how to pick em huh?

What is the SOL on the accounts? What's the amounts?

If Capital 1 is a recent collection, from reading articles here, I don't think I would mess with them unless you wanna pay.

LVNV is the biggest piece of scum thugs. You may have to get rough with them and file suit to get the account deleted. That means getting rough with the CRA and LVNV.

crap one is a petty amount (350$$) and it stayed with the OC, so i'll probably just pay that one to have it listed as "paid in full" The LVNV one is around $1500. (originally 1250, difference was the basis for my dispute but assuming that was interest?) I understand that this probably want help my credit score but I aspire to own a home so i'll probably be dealing with these guys at some point in time. The SOL is 3 years away and I hope to buy a home before then. thanks for your help

You do realize that if you pay LVNV it will not help your credit.

Also if you settle with them...example your bill is $1000 and they let you settle for $200. Later on they could come back and sue you for the $800(plus interest) or even sell it off to another JDB

That's why you get the settlement in writing--so if they do sue you in the future or sell the "remaining balance" to a JDB, you have proof that the debt was forgiven.
