mstrey12
I have two paid bounced checks from 2004 being reported on my credit reports from two different CA's. Do these stay on for 7 years as well? Any ideas on how to remove them?

tim1234
I would not mess with bounced checks. Afterall, it is illegal to write bad checks. I will let it fall off on its own.Good luck.Let me tell you about my ONE BOUNCED check. About 10 years ago I wrote a check for $35.00 to the local grocery store about the same time I was moving to a different city---50 miles away. I closed my checking account thinking everything had cleared. Moved away-found the love of my life--got married---and 3 YEARS LATER I was coming home from work one night and got pulled over for a traffic violation and guess what--cop ran my license--and he said we got a warrant for your arrest---please step out of the car. That $35.00 check ended up costing me close to $1,000.00 from the missed days at work---getting bailed out and to pay the fine. My suggestion would to be to pay those checks off--------ASAP! I had a couple like this and never paid them but they were removed. Then again they were post dated checks and in Wisconsin it is not considered a bad check if they did not check with you before depositing the check. mstrey12
The checks were paid right after the CA's contacted me back in 2004 but they've been hanging around on my CR reports for quite a while. I guess I was wondering if they had the same 7 year waiting period before they drop off.
merkurfan
yes, they have a 7 year reporting. however, since paid many years ago the company has likely purged your records (After all, you paid. why keep um?).. Dispute them as paid before collections and they will likely vanish.
