billy99
Has anyone else had their local electric company report to the credit bureaus, it isn't an old account still active, but it is being reported in the same manner as a charge card.I know a while back utilities couldn't report on a credit report, has that changed?....soon the paperboy will be able to report on your credit report, along with the kid who sells lemonade.....haha (I think)
Methuss
Natural gas in Chicago (both Nicor and People's) report to the bureaus every month.Technically metered services are credit since they are giving you product before you pay for it.Unmetered services, such as television and most local phone services require you to pay in advance for services at a flat monthly rate and are not extending credit to you unless you are past due by more than 30 days and they leave the service on. isislc
Here in Wisconsin WE-Energies reports every time an account is closed, past due, or any other type of derogatory reason. Otherwise, they don't normally go out of their way every month to report that you are a model customer.
VaSwtness
Yes, when we had Dominion Virginia Power they reported each month. When we moved back in March they dropped off our report the next month. We now have a different company. The current company we have has not reported so far. mstrey12
Yep, I'm in Chicago and People's Energy (North Shore Gas) reports every month to TU & EQ. I had been wondering about this same question for some time.
