LeslieR
I defaulted on a student loan and stupidly avoided the CAs for a year. I finally got smart and started rehabbing in March 05, at which point I consolidated my loans and the defaulted one was paid off and closed out at a zero balance. Although the delinquencies started sometime in 04, they are reporting that my FIRST major delinquency was March 05 (the date the darn loan was paid off!!!)Therefore, they are also tacking at least a year onto the amount of time this bad loan will be reported.Suggestions???ThanksLeslie
LynnInMN
Student loans do not use the DOFD for reporting purposes and SOL. Everything goes by the claim paid date or default date.
