simplysilky
I paid Orchard for a secured CC that was in collections totalling $236 and I also have a letter stating such from them, so I can take to my loan officer to prove it was paid.Just in case Orchard does not report this paid debt to the credit bureaus, can't I just dispute as "paid"? I knkow my scores will probably not go anywhere but just wondering...

jetscarbie
yes, you can dispute it as paid. You might also dispute it as "obsulete" and see if by some chance they delete the whole tradeline.
Tazjeepcj7
Act carefully when disputing paid collection items. I (anxious to have a credit card reported as "120 days late" show that I had paid the card off) disputed an account as paid to get the CRAs to update their info. The credit card reported to each CRA that the account was a paid collection. Be careful what you ask for...
simplysilky
ok this is crazy! I disputed this paid off collection thinking just MAYBE they would go ahead and delete or update it. I LOST 6 POINTS!! I guess that's how the cookie crumbles....
