PolarBearnCO
LOL.Thought what the heck. They pull EQ and I can get the INQ deleted if I don't get the card. So I tried and they approved me for $500. Funny thing is I have a CO from 6 years ago still on CRs. Only thing I notice is my CO is with GE Money Bank and Best Buy now uses HSBC.Thought this could be helpful to anyone that's been afraid of Best Buy because of previous issues. PolarBearnCO
I HATE BEST BUY. Not going to buy any of their overpriced goodies. I prefer Amazon.com. That card has CL of $17K... lol.Why would I want to pay full price for anything? Amazon rules! I guess I'll have to buy something there on occasion to keep the TL open. Suppose I could buy then return unopened to keep the account open, right?

bankybruce
I have had a Best Buy Mastercard for about 8 months and recently paid off a 4 year old repo(last negative thing on my credit) and my scores all jumped over 600. I decided to try and get the Best Buy store card (They denied me 8 months and offered me the Mastercard instead, when I will had the repo and 3 unpaid CO's and gave me a $300 limit). I was approved for $1000 and purchased "My So Called Life" on DVD for the girlfriend for Christmas. Then while I was talking to lady(I had to call to verify my idenity) they increased my Mastercards limit too, by $300. What a great day.

That was last Friday and it is already being reported on all three credit agencies as of yesterday. That is really fast

Krash
what is funny is that, I have a best buy credit card, from hsbc, and my limit was 520 i think, then i get a increase because I usually keep 200 on it, and pay 100 a month on it! I love best buy! I have found some great deals there, BTW AMERIKANER, who does the circuit city card?

Krash
well thanks amerikan, I couldn't believe when they gave me the card, I paid 49 bucks for the yearly fee, and that is all I owe, and that is the only cc I have had since 98.. So it has been a long hard road with credit for me, when i was 18 i got something and took it back, it was just a dang ol go cart for bigger people, well i took it back and paid a certain amount i didn't know anything about credit then, and that just started my bad credit even though i had credit lol!! I can't wait for one collection to come off in march of 08, plus i am fighting AMERICAN INVESTMENT, Experian took it off when i disputed it was a charge off too!! Wish me luck... POINT MAN, I WAnt one too, but i am having to bite my nails to keep from applying at circuit city!!
pointman
POINT MAN, I WAnt one too, but i am having to bite my nails to keep from applying at circuit city!!I used to have a C-City card... I got into a urinating match with a youngster in Cust Svc over a late fee that I felt was inappropriately applied to my balance. Neither of us would budge, so I told him I wanted to close my account upon mailing in the final payment. He obliged, and over time, I lost the positive tradeline. Now, Chase doesn't want to reopen the acct. I'm sure the little "pin stick" logged some derogatory comments on my acct and I'm no longer one of their preferred customers. That's why I'm looking at B-Buy. It wasn't until I became a CIC member that I found out the importance of keeping positive accounts open.

Krash
I have to ask, I applied for a circuit city credit card, not the store only card, well i apply then i get the approval, for 2500 bucks but it is the store only, I am depressed now, chase doesn't do that and my credit won't be helped because it is a department store card right?
dazedandconfusedincali
$2500.00 is a great amount!!! And store cards do help your credit, just don't get carried away using it. A store card is revolving credit and with that limit you should be able to get some other good cards. Good Luck!!
Krash
yeah, i called CHASE, and they said they report it to the credit big 3's....... yea I am going to keep it 25 percent, i have a cc from best buy hsbc with a new limit of 750, they gave me over 200 and i have just had it since 5 07, I am going to make payment and get the limit on the 25 percent mark, should i pay off the hsbc card and work on using the circuit city card on small purchases and pay them off? Or keep doing small amounts on the hsbc as well as use the CC card only if i need something? Also my hsbc card isn't reporting my limit as 750 yet, it is still 510, will this help out my score some by having a bigger limit and keeping it on 25 percent? I am trying to understand more! Fizzle1979
I love BB, not a fan of CC so much. I find that there is always good deals on stuff at BB vs CC. CC seems too high in my opinion. Of course finding someone at BB to help you is another story...never seems to be anyone around...but my theory on that is that they are so cheap they are just too busy. Krash
i am afraid to apply for credit with BB, I don't like cc so much either! They are higher, but they do have some deals! I like the bb because of the fridgs and other appliances, I done got two cards with HSBC, and they won't give me another one i am sure! lol But that doesn't mean I have to use the cc card, i can always cancel it!
