razr
I have accounts that have been in collections for over 30 days - can I still start the Debt Validation process?Yes, but the CA is not obligated to respond if it is outside the 30 day initial notice.-r
rella5
You can and you should DV outside of the 30 days, howeverthe CA's can still pursue collection activity if you DV outside of the 30 days. If you DV within the 30 days they have to stop collection activity UNTIL they validate and there is no rule on how long they can take to do that. kevin3344
There is a debt validation link at the top of this board with a sample letter. Don't use it word for word, it is a good guide though. It will get you started.
