Ash1978
What exactly does this mean on the credit reports? I have a old paid collections account from 2001, and the Date of recent activity says 07/2007.
isislc
Did you try to dispute it at one time? Just dispute the date with the CRAs and say it's too old to be on your account.
Ash1978
Yes I disputed it a couple of weeks ago and it just came back as verified yesterday from the CA. Ugh. I just can't get this fecking old paid collections acount off for nothing!Since the date of last activity is 07/07, that doesn't mean that my seven years starts all over again, right? isislc
It could. I would now send them a MOV letter to the CRAs and then do a dispute with the CA on the account. See what you can shake from that tree.
Ash1978
Wha? That bad account was supposed to fall off next year. So everytime I dispute something the CA's are going to update the account and make the seven years start all over again? I thought they couldn't do that and that it's called re-aging or something. And when you say I need to dispute, you're talking about disputing the timeline, right?
isislc
So everytime I dispute something the CA's are going to update the account and make the seven years start all over again? No. What I was referring to is the different date reportings. Date Reported, Date Updated, Date of Last Activity, Date Assigned, yadaa yadaa. They show up differently but pretty much mean the same on the 3 CRAs. Date of recent can either show any last payments made or last verified. If this is verified, then there is no reaging. I would dispute the timeline anyways. I've had a few derogatories thrown out early with that one.And when you say I need to dispute, you're talking about disputing the timeline, right? That is correct.
