Any business credit you are extended either as an employee or owner will be personally guaranteed by you. They may or may not check your personal credit based on the strength of the company's financials. If you're a new business, they will check your personal credit.

Hey Vali, not 100% about the following but here is my experience and what I think. I think it depends how the bill is paid. At one company I worked for, they provided purchase cards, everyone who applied got one and default limit was $5K. I applied and got one. These type of cards are generally paid by the company, not yourself. Still in your name and all, you are still financially responsible for the balance, and you still have to file an expense report (per company guidelines), but I never wrote a check to the card. I charged stuff, filled out expense report, said it was on charge card, and then it got paid.

I think most places give cards that are the responsibility of the user. Current place of employment has a corporate card, but you have to apply, they say the "have right to run your credit", but the main difference here is that if I had one, I would have to write a check to cover the bill. I would get reimbursed through employer. Let me know how that works out b/c I've been debating the same question about applying for a corporate card. What I said above may be totally incorrect, but I did get a card through one employer even though I had questionable credit (not as bad as it is now, but still don't think I would have been able to get a 5K limit cc with my credit). The difference was that card was paid by my employer when I incurred expenses.

The only reason I haven't applied for corporate CC at new place of work is b/c I've read that if they deny you, they will tell the company. And if they issue you a card and do a periodic check on your credit and for some reason decide to close it out or lower your limit, they'll tell the company. So I haven't applied b/c of that. I can handle rejection, I just don't want my employer to know. Keep me posted on what you find out or if you try to get one.
