row
I just received an email from GE Money in response to an online app. I did for Walmart....and I am confused...unable to verify home phone #???...they did not even call me....I do have a new number but I do not have a home phone # only a cell phone # that contact and use for all my app's...unable to verify got me puzzle when these jokers did not even call me...do any one think if i give them a call they may reconsider my app.?Here is exactly what the the email stated and this is from my transunion report - 638...In reaching this decision, your request was judgmentally reviewed and denied for the following reason(s): UNABLE TO VERIFY HOME PHONE NUMBER
SugarNspice
My DH got the same response. He even called to reconsider and they wouldn't. It really ticked us off because they told us to just apply again. The reps acted like they didn't know anything. We applied 3 times(twice with Sam's Club, and once with Walmart). They pulled his best report each time, so I'm sure he would have gotten the card. We dont have a home phone, just a cell phone but his cell number is on his CR because of the FA.
mstrey12
I applied two days ago for the Walmart card and got the same response "Unable to verify home phone number". Not sure what the problem is - I have a home phone. Was thinking about giving them a call or sending them a copy of my home phone bill to the address for GEMB in the email and ask them to reconsider. row
I called Walmart Card Services this morning to find out exactly what was the problem...i was told you can not use a cell phone as a home phone #...so i said to the woman "Beverly" lots of people have cell phone now a days as home phone #'s ....she states that i can use a relative's # as a home #...so i gave her my mother's #....so she started to ask all of these question about what i put on the app. then she states that the address i gave her is under someone else name already "jerry spikes" ...i told her i have no ideal who in the hell is "jerry spikes" it must be someone who use to live here before me....so she stated that she is trying to process my app but she has to transfer me to the fraud department for further processing ....so i was transfer only to find out i was denied after they ask me the same questions as before...im like this was f-ing waste of time...and i can wait to see what this denial letter states now....i bet i was denied because of this jerry spikes person....here is the information to contact them:Wal-Mart Phone: 1-877-294-7880 i can't wait to get the
CreditKitty
I had the same problem when I applied to Target.Couldn't verify my # or address.Well, I certainly DO live at the address I applied with, and my cell phone IS my home phone. Sorry, but I'm not going to pay extra for a home line when I don't have a need for it.
mstrey12
Thanks for listing the number for Walmart. Just gave them a call too - the rep. I spoke with kept stating "you should receive a letter in the mail stating the reason for denial". I told her TWICE that I know the reason (phone number verification). Finally she said to send a copy of my home phone bill to the address on the letter and ask for the application to be reprocessed. I'll keep you posted as to what happens - this will probably take weeks to sort out.
whocares
I do not have a home phone # I also use a cell and only a cell. seems like 100.00 for 3 lines a month is a better deal than the 50.00 a month for a hime phone...Wal-mart ruins everything:cry:
row
I do not have a home phone and I was told by the rep a cell phone will not get approval for GEMB/WAlmart....peep this I just got the same denial from GEMB/PAYPAL...UNABLE TO VERIFY HOME PHONE #...so to all those who apply for credit with GEMB, you will not be approve with a cell phone # listed as the home #Also the rep told me to use a relative with a landline when you apply****just an important note for those who have not applied****
razr
I wonder if you could use a cell number if it matches the phone number on your CR?-r
mstrey12
Well it's strange that mine was denied since I have a land line and it's the same phone number listed on all three of my CR's. No one seemed to be the least bit interested in helping me or verifying the phone number through Walmart's CS line when I called them (twice). Maybe they couldn't verify since my # is unlisted. SugarNspice
Yea it's really frustrating because they also asked my DH a bunch of questions from the application, and just when you think theyre going to approve you, they tell you that there's nothing they can do. It's like why ask you all those questions anyways. Right? They also told him to give them a relatives number next time, and they still denied him when he tried that on his next application.
