Welcome! I got a boy on the way to, mama is baking him up right now :)

First little tip for you.. You are one of the few, the lucky ones.. You live in 1 of 2 states that say once SOL has past, the CA/OC MUST FOAD. So check everything closely in your reports. If it's out of SOL, send them a nice letter reminding them of your states law (you'll have to look it up, and find the SOL for the debt) and demand they delete and FOAD.

Also, is your mail box for rent? A lot of us would like to use your states laws to tell creditors FOAD.

Welcome!

Hehehehe... search is your friend.

basically, your state has a law that says once the statue of limitations has passed (this is the amount of time from when you defult on a account they can sue. So if you defulted 01/01 and the SOL was 4 years they must sue you by 01/05) the creditor, or CA must stop all collection activities and delete any information they have on your credit report. This is a VERY good thing if you have a lot of debts that are past your states SOL, but under the federal 7.5 year reporting time frame. Only 2 states have a law like I just explained. MS and WI.

it's a very good law for you to use (it's a credit repair dream for some) :)

It's also the reason some of us would want to live in MS, or at least be able to make it look like we live there (by using a friends address, or "renting" a mail box from a mail drop location).

I'm thinking about moving to WI (or at least getting a mail drop and sending a few bills there, and getting a WI dl) so that I can use WI's law to get the last of my bad info off my reports.

If your still lost (I can be confusing) check out the stickies (the posts at the top of all the forums) look for the abrivations (we LOVE those) and the primer to get you started on your way
