sandra1
Okay, here I go, I made a huge mistake about 1 ago, I applied for cable service for a so called friend, who never paid the cable co, and now its on my credit report.Im trying to dispute it. Cant I submit to them proof of address from a gas & electric company to where I always lived at. and have them remove based on its not mine. Shouldnt that be legal enough? nascar
Who is asking you to submit information?
swirlgirl
Sandra1, you said you applied for cable for a friend. Did you sign any papers at the time? Was the bill listed in your name? If you did, then legally it's your debt. It's the same as if you co-signed a loan. The address isn't important.
sandra1
No one is asking me to send them a ID theft Affidavit, I just thought they may ask for it rather than me sending them a proof of service address verification.About the other question: Did I sign any papers. No I didnt sign anything. everything with that cable co is done by phone.
