Two CA's showing up on my CR for the same debt - dispute?

Hello all,

I currently have two CA's showing up on my credit report for the same debt. The first CA (Arrow) is showing a balance of say $500 with a balance date of March 2007. The second (Asset) is showing a balance of around the same, but with a balance date of July 2007. The original creditor has already disappeared from the CR as this debt is past the SOL I believe. Is there a way to get at least one of these entries off my CR until I figure out what to do about the actual debt? Any information or help that can be provided would be very appreciated. Thank you all so much for your time!@

Klink,

Since one just popped on, I would immediately send out a DV to that one. I would do it for both and dispute with the CRA at the same time under "not mine". This would initiate the 1-2 punch others refer to and maybe BOTH will come off. Be sure to send it cmrrr because both these companies are sneaky. Follow the rest of the information on here when they do not reply. FYI, I DVed arrow and they forwarded me to another company, who I Dved. They immediately got back and sent it back to Arrow. Obviously, they are missing pertinent information to be able to DV.

After they fail to respond, send the 15 day letter. Again they may fail... send proof of your letters and CMRRR's to the CRA in a second dispute. If that does not work... continue with ITS letter. You will probably get both off this way.
