tintedsand
Yesterday I received a Civil Summons from Capital One Bank. The paperwork says that unless a written defense is made by me or by an attorney on my behalf within 20 days, judgment by default may be taken against me. I'm not sure what this means. Do I have to appear in court? No court date was given.I owe a principal amount of $961.47, along with accrued interest in the amount of $293.66 through July 19, 2007, plus interest thereafter at the rate of 28.490% per annum until paid in full. My credit limit was $500.I don't know what to do. Should I contact an attorney, or should I contact the attorney who is working for Capital One? Is it too late for me to set up a payment plan? The most I would be able to pay is $100 a month. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
