merkurfan
You don't DV anyone. It likely is not yours. The CRA's have little cronnies that search public records and tie them to a name or address. So it could be that it's Joe blow's at 123 main street. But since that person did not exist, and your name is Joe Blow at 321 Main St, it must be yours.Start with a phone call to the Virginia department of revenue and see what they have to say about it. There should be a file number listed in the public record. They can't tell you anything about it if it is not yours. If they say it is not yours, get the persons name and extention number. Use that information to start a dispute of "not mine" that way the CRA can verify it's not yours with the same person that told you.

merkurfan
yup, unpaid tax liens are the only thing that does not fall off your reports. Once paid they linger around for 7 years. Although I have found once paid, you can dispute them and they fall
