niquieg
Hi i'm new to this board but very familiar with the site.I have a very frustrating credit question that has been bothering me.My credit report indicates I have 11 installment accounts. How does it affect my credit to request to have those that aren't current removed? They all report in good standings but are basically repeats due to consolidation. I'm only paying on 1 of those accounts.Does it matter if I have them removed? Will it affect my credit negatively or not at all?
willingtocope
11 OPEN installment accounts with $0 balance will hurt slightly (too many open accounts).11 closed "paid as agreed" installment accunts are probably positive, although if there are a bunch of "lates", then not so much.I'd suggest, leave them alone... Ahntara
An installment account with a zero balance IS a closed account. Leave them be. They are historical data. That's what your CR is supposed to contain.
bigjohnstud4200
I vote for leaving them. Nothing like having your score drop b/c of lack of history.
