zfire
I know there have been discussions here about Experian and how they send letters asking for identifying information...telling people it wasn't supplied...and I have always sent the copy of the DL and SS card..right onthe same sheet of paper that the request is on. I have printed up some just for such occasions.TODAY I got the famous letter that I needed to send the information to prove my identity. So...Just wanted to rant, and let you know, that theyeven do this to people who supply what they ask.........on the same sheet of paper. It's truly been one of those days. This was just the last straw.

zfire
Maybe you are correct OK. I mean, hey, if they weren't idiots, one could get a dispute done in the normal 30 days, right?Yeah ok, Friday.
jjpc
Their job is great hey - get paid to mess with people's lives!Yeah - they had the balls to tell me they keep "transferred" accounts on my report for 10 years even THOUGH it's past any possible collection and SOL - how the heck does one get ahead??? zfire
I read all about reporting somewhere. Think some accounts can stay, but those are just certain types?I don't remember the word transferred. They are the people who tend to verify things that fall off the other two.Still trying to figure out how that can be. isislc
In Experian's defense, they really aren't idiots by requesting that information that was already sent in. They are hoping that the person making the original request overlooks that fact and sends in the requested info. At that point, you have just given them another 15 days to complete their investigation. So, in actuality they aren't being idiots, they are being slick and thinking we may be the idiots. bigjohnstud4200
They are being idiots or morons, they are being sneaky! What they are doing is attempting to get you to send "new info" to them so that they can extend the dispute time by 15 days. I get this same letter EVERY time with EQ. Do not answer them or they will extend the dispute time!
zfire
I won't answer them...yet, but..........Had an inquiry the other day, so this has to be where it came from, because anew mis-spelled name has shown up. I sort of figure someone hit the wrong key on this one, but still it is an irritant.Figure it's a legit inquiry that caused it...because we've had 2 fairlyrecently. I had sort of intended to write them something like this: ...first I send you info, then to add injury toinsult you send me this form letter, and now you've done it again...alloweda name screw up...Once again, my name is..................bla bla bla
