jbusta
Hi everyone. Im 22 yrs old and off to a bad start.I have 2 small things that have given me a 572 on my experian.1st incidentI had a wells fargo account when i was like 17 yrs old. It had cost $5 a month to maintain, which I was unaware of, since i had opened the account with my mom. Anyway, I stopped working at my job and didn't know WF kept charing my checking account. Anyway, about 5 or 6 months later, i was notified it was closed out with an outstanding balance of about $60. So when I found out, I immediately paid it off. The sad thing is, I reopened an account with them in 2004, and I am still currently with hem to this very day.2nd incidentJust recently, I opened up an account with my local credit uniuon OCTFCU - Orange County Teachers Federal Credit Union. They told me I had an SCE Edison Electric bill in collections for $17.........$17 freakin dollars. So I called SCE and they said it occured at the end of 2006, when I moved from my previous address. I had the account closed, and was Told I would be credited for a certain amount. In reality, I was sent another bill (which I never received) and it put me in a negative amount of $16.69. Fast forward to last week, when I found out about it, I immediately called SCE and paid off the $17 with an electronic check.IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO REMOVE THESE 2 little things(at least i think they are) off my credit report? shinyrims
yes, the first thing to do is, to read the DV process on the website, there should be a credit repair or Debt validation link on the top of the wep page

TheRoadBack
If you were under 18 years old when you opened the account you should not be held liable as you cannot be a minor and enter into a legally binding contract imho.
pointman
I have to do all of that for these little things? Is there no other way?Actually, there's a link in here somewhere that you can just type in your name and all the baddies go away by noon the next day. If I can find it I'll send it to you...No really. We should all be so lucky to only have "two little things" to worry about.Do the work; you'll be glad you did, and in the process, you'll learn how to avoid similar pitfalls in the future... jetscarbie
jbusta...just dispute the accounts with the CRA. If that doesn't work...try writing Wells and CU a goodwill letter.572 on my experian. That score seems really low for only 2 collections.
