CleverCynic
hey guys, I'm going to make my call to TC shortly and record it. I'd like to know going in if this is about the $11.21 being eliminated underhandedly, or if they can justify a genuine concern for credit report tampering simply by daily use as permitted by the service. Let's determine if there's room for a class-action here. Thanks
SecretAgentWoman
There are people on this thread reporting they were full-price $14.95 customers and got cancelled anyway.
CleverCynic
thanks, I've read up a bit there and also on fatwallet.com which came up from a "truecredit class action" google search. Any comments on this phone number:(866) 212-2170which was posted by someone as being a genuine california office for truecredit? Either way I'm about to try it. I'm going to tell them I just received one of their famous internet-wide e-mails and would like to hear what they have to say for themselves. I will not be accused of ANYTHING without a good tongue-lashing in return!
brattylatina
I got the email too and I am the $14.95/month. I called this morning to get my refund because they took the fee a few days before the cancellation. She put me on hold forever and they gave me another telephone number to call (866.215.0740) but I have yet to call.Let me know if you have any luck with getting a refund. Macwench
Well the number IS good for "special services", but I've been on hold now for several minutes. It's all the ex-account holders calling in to complain
CleverCynic
Definitely! I don't know how they expect to handle the flood of calls since this thing has exploded. Does everyone agree that this started full-steam on or around the 20th of this month?Anyway, re: the phone call, I don't know how this happened but it all of a sudden said "we're sorry, all circuits are busy now, please try your call again later"... I've heard this before when trying to MAKE a call, but I've never been booted in the middle of a hold... who got my place on a phone line instead of ME?? I don't even know if it's in CA or locally that the circuits were busy... hmphh...
virtualrn
There are almost a hundred posts on creditboards.com regarding this. Seems the cancellations are due to excessive pulls.....some consumers are even being asked point blank if they are pulling due to credit score scewing. virtualrn
Breach of contract, class action..... oh and yeah, somebody was even refunded for the full year per contract although they only used it for 7 months.

jetscarbie
Does it seem like they are pulling accounts right after they take out the automatic payment?
whocares
I called yesterday as they cancelled me for no reason, I asked if it was becuase I use the service everyday, I understood thats what it's for...I told her I was trying to buy a house and needed to get my credit in order and this was a good way to keep track I thought...After all it says on the front page, pull your report everyday...so they did not accuse me of trying to bump.I had to resign up again...anmd got in today, but I could only use the 14.95 link.... Macwench
Do any of you that signed back up still have the Wal-Mart Banner on top? I didn't sign up like they told me to, kept having problems, so I stumbed on somewhere else that let me put in the certificate. I put it in and everything was fixed (it seems). They never told me I would start paying $14.95 (although I assume I will be) and I still have the walmart banner when I sign in...
whocares
I wonder if they are ticked at wal-fart customers...maybe we are too low class for their service
CleverCynic
I wonder if they are ticked at wal-fart customers...maybe we are too low class for their serviceIf we were a minority segment of society perhaps. But the absurdly extreme opposite is true which is why there is a minority that hates them, and seems to prefer paying more for everything. teacherofec
I have been trying to get my report from TC for about two weeks now. I tried reordering, they took my money and when I click to see the report the page is blank. I called and they said they would give me a gift code but tried that and it didn't work. I called back and they said they would give me a new code within 24 hours and I would have to try again tomorrow. I think their just tired of me complaining about their incorrect info. virtualrn
I don't think it is just Wal-Mart-they are looking at excessive pulls. I don't post credit boards (CIC is a much better site), but I have read through their posts and here, every last one of them on True Credit. I think the incentive here is that they ,Tru Credit are trying to cover a glitch in their software without excessive costs. It was pointed out on CB that years ago that some fools were calling the customer service # to complain that bumpdates were not happening fast enough (so they have known about this for years)...Coupled with Transunion's stake in this and the recent foreclosure wave-they are trying to tighten the ship without spending on the hardware. I do think they are checking various consumer names on all boards and bumping consumers who match e-mail addresses in their files.... Good God! What does the consumer have to gain on inquiry points-maybe 20 points? BFD! They are going after the wrong people! Who offered someone a mortgage at 0% for two years without explaining the ARM? Geez...us!
