How very interesting!

My DW had a Verizon account on her report that neither of us had ever heard of. I broke the golden rule and had my DW call Verizon to ask what it was. They could not locate the account nor provide any information about it. I disputed the account on all 3 of her reports and it was deleted last week.

Yesterday, I received an alert from all 3 cra's showing a new account on mine and her reports. Palisades/Verizon is the new name and was posted on 9/6/07.

Today we receive a letter from Palisades stating that they have received my correspondence requesting verification of debt (((?????))) and they have placed the account in a dispute status and all collection activity on my account has ceased. The letter was addressed to me and DW.

What has just happened here?
