Do store cards reduce your FICO score?

Recommended Posts

I don't need any. I'm just playing the game to get a good score. :)

I buy most of our household stuff at the 1$ store and clothing, books, jackets, etc at the thrift store. Target was the first revolving credit I had. I made a purchase (to pay off exactly over 6 months to give me a 6 month revolving credit payment history) and then I cut it up.

Except to get a tradeline I don' even understand why the store cards have success with consumers because the interest seems to be very high compared to visa/mc cc.

I had read they hurt your FICO score and wanted to ask. :)

Thank you everyone for your advice. :)
