topflyte7777
Thanks to this site, I have already removed several negatives from al 3 CRAs so I am making progress. Here is my quandry;I have not a single positive account nor any new credit, though I will start soon. I have maybe 8-10 negatives left on each, most of which are 6-7 years old. My account with FMC was installments for 2002 - 2004 and then I paid it off. I have 4 thirty day lates on the listing and either paid as agreed or current as status on all 3 bureaus. Is thiis account helping or hurting. Should I try to delete through CRAs or can I get them to change the lates without delete. Can I dispute the lates with Ford and turn this into a positive, or will they only delete at best. Possibly a goodwill letter with them instead. I just hate to shoot myself in the foot until I build up some positive history.Any suggestions would be helpful.
razr
I would just leave it alone. The lates are old enough they prob aren't huting you much, if any. -r

Moriah4
From what I have read in various and sundry places the older lates are the less they hurt and if you have on time payments following which I believe you state you did and then paid it off they probably aren't hurting you that much. You can try a gw letter and ask if they will change it it might be worth a shot. Trying for a secured card and a CJ account might help you some as well. It could help get some positive TL going on your reports. Good Luck Moriah
whocares
Start with a few easy to get cards...Leave the FMC alone, it's your only good cause it's paid history...I would dispute everything else that I can...while trying to get a secured card or an easy to get account...Good Luck
