A derogatory account has appeared on your credit report.

Here are the details of this account:

Reported By: Experian

Reported On: 10/01/2007

Alert Type: Grid Code L (Charge-off)

Creditor Type: Bank Credit Cards

Date Last Updated: 05/18/2002

Derogatory Amount: 00001931

Date of Alert: 09/30/2007

Creditor Name: AMEX

Creditor Address: PO BOX 297871

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33329-7871

Creditor Phone Number: (800)8742717

Why would it be an alert now when nothing has been done since 2002?

Also, the alert type was a "Major Derogatory". Is this a change in the account?

Nope. Didn't dispute it. There's been absolutely zero contact with AMEX for over 4 years now.

This is the first time anything has ever come up as a "major" derogatory. Not sure why, especially since it's not a new account being reported.

My guess is that AMEX just decided to update the account. Probably didn't change anything except the report date, which is legal if they didn't change the DOFD.

Just curious is says Reported on 10/01/2007 but the Alert Date is 09/30/2007. Is that normal? It seems backwards?

I noticed that too and didn't really understand.

Anyway, this new update made my FAKO go down 15 points. Is this possible, since it's not a "new" delinquency? Wouldn't they have to have changed something to make it go down?
