xozzie1x
So I have 13 Inquiry's on my report..all over a year old. Do i need to send them all certified letters to say i didn't authorize the inquiry? or would a regular letter do?
aadam101
Letter's will get you nowhere. There are lots of threads on this.
xozzie1x
Letter's will get you nowhere. There are lots of threads on this.really? I tried looking for a previous post, but couldn't really find much..a lot of them i know arn't valid, and I think most of them are from being "shopped around" from a car dealership and 4 from a mortgage brokerany suggestions otherwise? Ahntara
"...over a year old..."Inquiries factor into credit scores, for purposes of lending, for only 12 months.
Nascar3
Correct. At the beginning of my repair I sent about 10 inquiry removal letters. NOTTA!! From ANY of them. I wouldn't waste your time or money on them.
xozzie1x
did you send them certified? Other places i've read seem to state that if they don't reply within a "resonable amount of time" they have to remove it
Nascar3
They don't have to remove an inquiry if they had a permissable purpose. And yes, I sent them all CMRRR. Most ignored me. A couple sent me a letter stating that they had PP. None were removed.
morrow
If I recall, EQ is pretty much the only one that you may even have a chance with in getting inquiries removed. I remember disputing a few at a time, I did it all over the phone and within days they were removed. If they tell you they cant, hang up, call back and get a different CSR. I wouldnt over do it though, thats why I said a few at a time. Keep in mind, this was 4-5 years ago, things may have changed. Im going by past experience.TU and EX are pretty much a waste of time, I wouldnt even bother.Good luck!
newbie7069
I also wanted to add that when you are "shopping around" for either a car loan or mortgage, FICO groups those togethor as one inquiry so long as they are within a certain time frame (although I can't remember what that is off the top of my head). aadam101
Do a search for "bumpage." This is your best bet to remove inquiries. Also, many have said that of you have a fraud alert on EX they wil remove them. I have a FA but haven't tried to dispute them off yet. I still have a baddie on there that I'm working on.
