cc1015
Hi Everyone,so I am getting ready to write my debt validation letter to MCM(ugh)Any suggestions on a good letter?does anyone have a template?they are trying to collect about $8700 from me on what they say is a $14,500 bill from Citibank. Unfortunately, I paid another CA about $1,400 and I think this started the clock again. My last payment was in 5/04. I just heard from MCM about this debt after hearing nothing for almost 3 1/2 yrs. I still think MCM is outside of the SOL in NJ for open end credit(I think it is 3 yrs)Anyhow, If anone can give me some help I would appreciate it. Thank you all so much-this is very helpful!!CC

Skrangs
Midland is a beast! Do a Search on them. I'm dealing with them as we speak and just sent a 3rd email/letter to them on numerous violations. I had to go as far as the BBB & the FTC. cc1015
NJ's SOL for credit cards is 6 years.Hi Jennie,Thanks for your response. This is not a credit card account that MCM is going after. It is a revolving line of credit. When I checked the statute of limatations list that Crdit Info center list to it says 3 yes for this type of debt.I have to find out if this is correct from NJ AG.Thanks!!CC

zaiman14
I have been dealing with these guys. They have racked up several violations. I did report them to the BBB after finding out that they are not licensed to conduct conumer collection activities in the state of florida. Check to see if they are licensed. They threatened arbitration with me...but then called a few times and now have heard nothing...Good luck!R
jennieb
My husband had MCM contacting him. When we sent asked for validation, they went away. They do have offices in NJ. Having worked in the legal field, I can tell you that the attys they hire are the ones who graduated at the bottom of their classes or who can't make it in real law firms.
