jilliep80
I am getting ready to put my letters in the mail. I am going to the Post Office this afternoon. Do I put the letters in my own envelope or do I need to use a special envelope the Post office Provides. Just want to save myself some time. Sorry for the silly question, I've nver done this before. Bodhi
Use your own envelope. When you get to the post office, pick up a certified mail tag. (It is white with dark green lettering) Fill out the address portion, also grab a green card for the return receipt portion of the deal. It is the size of a 4 X 6 index card and all pale green.Fill it out, both sides. Now you can either attach it to the letter, but let the post office clerk do it for you since it is your first time. Dre
And make sure it's a long envelope; they don't like the small ones at all
merkurfan
You can also select the E-mail return recept. Just as good as the card. Unless you like collecting cards. The e-mail one the mail carrier collects the revicers signature on their little computer gizmoe and it pops up on the web, you then get a e-mail with the information. This is admissiable in court. I had to use it once. Check in to state laws if your worried about it.
isislc
Don't forget, there is a small, thin strip of the CM numbers that is on the green CM tag that you need to peel off and put on the bottom front of the green card.
Fizzle1979
FYI - You want to pick up USPS Form 3800 and USPS Form 3811. The forms are free, pick up about ten of each so you can fill them out a home. Part of Form 3800 will fit on Form 3811.
