dominickv
When using CCCS how do they determine how much of you income goes towards the monthly payments?I am considering using them but have some obligations that arent listed on my credit report. Is it restrictive like Chapter 13 where I will have no disposable income? Is it a precentage? dominickv
I would strongly urge you to do more research into the negative aspects of using any "credit counseling" service.thanks I'm aware of the pros and cons but what I'm trying to learn ishow much of your income CCCS(the only one I would even consider) makes you pay to creditors.I have some obligations that won't appear on my credit report and they need to be paid too. nascar
how much of your income CCCS(the only one I would even consider) makes you pay to creditors. That, I don't know ... but the problem across the board with these companies is that whatever amount you do pay never makes it to the creditor in the first place. zfire
How about paying what you can yourself? I agree that CCS is not the route to take. Not only will what you pay not get where it's supposed to go..the (so called) administration fees they would charge you could also be going to pay the debt. Call those creditors and keep talking til you get someone high enoughup the food chain to discuss a hardship payment program with you. There are some very good postings regarding how to handle this right on the CIC site. Do a search.Z
Extra Credit
I have to say that for a while, my ex and I used CCCS, and the plan they laid out worked fine for us.All payments were made on time and in the exact amount specified. We had no problems with them at all. We had no unexpected charges, 1 total amount to pay each month, and it eased up the "calls". I don't remember how they came up with the total, so can't help thereGranted, if you have time to spend instead of money, then you can do it all with the info you find here. Jen&Alex
Can you please tell me what is a CIC site?
Amerikaner83
You're on a CIC site Credit Info CenterOP - Why don't you ask CCCS yourself? We don't use them here, so we don't know for sure how much they will use. It would all depend on your sitauation.
Philndahole
Just stay away from CCCS. You can negotiate better deals with the creditors than they can. If you truly are in a serious hardship, the creditors will work with you. Some will be easy and some will be bastards about it. It will be more work but you will have better control of what is going on. There is plenty of info here to help you through this. In the long run you will be much better off.
