RE:Debt Validation Letter and Cease Communication letter

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am sending MCM my debt validation letter tomorrow by certified return receipt requested mail tomorrow. Can I also send the a Cease Communication(stop them from calling me) letter at the same time, in the same envelope?

Or does this have to be sent later?

Pls advise . I am new at this sort of thing

Thanks

C

Well ideally if you sent the DV they are supposed to stop all collection activity until they prove the debt is yours. Which they might do. So I would just include in your letter that all communication must be done in writing about this matter. No calls to my employer as that is prohibited or home as those lines are all recorded.

A DV requests that you send them validation.

A C&D tells them not to contact you.

How do those work together? I don't see it. They can't send you the validation due to the C&D..the only thing they can do is tell you they'll stop collecting (but not if they have validation they wont' tell you that), or sue you. My money is on them getting validation (if it's to be had) and filing suit.

EDIT: If a Cease-comm is requested, and NOT a C&D, the above does not apply. I'm worried OP is using C&D as a cease-comm.
