i req'd my rpts, & now i'm receiving dunning's from everywhere. GEEZ i'm really scared since i did a req from telechecks. get this i had a tradeline scheduled to drop from my EXP rpt 10-07 & it dropped, i get my TU rpt today & they updated the tradeline AFNI (searching threads 4 them) for 10-07 scheduled to drop 12-07. thats really inconsistent rptg to me, but maybe it's usual. should drop dates be different between the CRA's, i know they use different codes, languages, & so forth, but shouldn't dates be the same? do u think the CA's are coming after me because i reviewed my rpt? maybe the CRA's told them i was checking...

brb. calling to opt out NOW.

ignorance is not bliss

prettykitty said in another thread:

way to go Wilkeral! i disputed 3 online w/EXP, & got 1 neg removed ($2000), 1 still in investigation, & the other came back verified.

I keep reading that the CBs are informing the CAs when you are doing things that indicate you may be in a position to pay old debts. Fair to the consumer? nope. You may have awoke the beast. Get well grounded on the procedures here and DV those dunnig letters. Also look them over carefully for violations.

CA's know that a mortgage company is going to make you pay off any collections to get a loan. The CA's latch on to this and start to bug you. I have a very old (way past reporting/SOL) electric bill that asshats have. 3 weeks ago I got a settlement offer of 40% of what they claim I owe (still more than what I really did owe back then) I applied for a mortgage 2 weeks ago, asshat sends me a little "let us help you get a mortgage" letter saying I should pay the debt in question now IN FULL! and talk with their "mortgage department staffed with mortgage experts"..

I sent them a letter letting them know that I have no intention of paying them on a unvalidated debt that was past reporting. But they could pay me some money for violating the DV I requested 2 years ago and that I would apply that to my down payment :D

gosh, they need to stop in their tracks i don't owe everybody neither can i pay everybody i do owe. i went through lending tree not for a house, but to get a car, & when i was denied, put on the bad list, & told you can only qualify for a lemon. i checked my rpt thats how i found this site. YIKES i have a ding on my rpt from a phone bill CA NCO, today i get a ltr from GC Svc's (searching the threads for them now)! what happens if you DV a $300 neg, the CA validates, the baddy is already on ur rpt & u still don't pay? Since NCO already hit my rpt, is it possible for GC to put a neg on my rpt, or will the o.g. neg update?

the CA's are chasing me, & i'm running

They can sue you, bug you, call you, send you letters and call you names. Really, all you must worry about is the first. laugh at the rest

GC if it is a different debt can nail you on your report. If it is the debt NCO is trying to collect I would dispute both (or the one on your report) as someone is trying to collect a debt they probably are no longer assigned to.

the CA's are chasing me, & i'm running

Don't run. grab your weapons, the FDCPA and the FCRA and FIGHT them. Running is what they want you to do. when you get tired you'll likely pay them to get them to go away.

yep same debt NCO already rpt'd & GC sent the dunning for me to pay in full at a certain time. it's a sticky situation, because who do you settle with? the one on my rpt is hurting me the most, but NCO from reading the threads are the worse monsters to deal with. i'm worried, rattled, but i know credit repair is a process & i've planned to become a Good Credit Citizen in 9 months to 1 year.

if i can't run maybe i can hide

13 negs on TU 2 pos

12 negs on EXP 2 pos

This is advice for you GC debt...

As far as I understand it,

GC doesn't report to the CRA's and they don't buy the

debts,... they are assigned the debts...( so it's probably a pretty recent debt-no?)

ask them or the OC... they will tell you if its assigned or if they bought it.

BUT beware,

if GC can't collect....

than the OC will eventually do one of two things..

1. take it back and sue you, or

(more likely ... if the debt is small)

2. take it back and sell it to a CA that does report to the CRA's, and they may sue you (an even worse situation than you have now)

IIWYIW settle with GC before the OC yanks it back,

(last time I checked... they settled down to about 75% of the asking balance -- ask for a 50% discount- this is your fastest way to the max settlement they can offer.- give all CA's a nice sob story why you were unable to pay and why you don't have money too yada yada)

at least you can nip this one in the bud before it gets more serious.

As far as DVing GC:

DVing GC may be a bad idea because it will more than likely just speed up the process mentioned above

( OC sell to a CA that does report)

DVing, every single CA is not always good advice,

that's like saying this one pick up line (" How youuu doin?" - joey triviani style) will work on every woman.....

There is no one single pickup line that will work for every single women

and DVing every single CA doesn't always work in your best interest every single time... there

are situations that it works against you.

BUT LET ME ADD

DVing is the appropriate MO most of the time, just not every time.

Questions for you...

Has the OC charged this debt off yet? Call the OC and ask. If not, pay before it does get charged off - 90 or 120 days late is much better than a CO.

How much $$ is it for (what are they saying the balance owing is)?

Who is the OC?

When was the DOLA?

If it's your debt and its legit ( be honest .. most debts are legit) than handle this one before it gets way worse for you.

Good Luck

thanx so much for the advice! i was going to DV today, but got too busy with stupido WFS.

GC asked for full amount: notice says "your acct w/ Sprint was referred to us"

OC: Sprint

Status: Collection Rpt'd 4-2007

Amount: $311.42 (NCO listed on my rpt as $341)

Yes, I do owe sprint around $120 something bucks, b4 my credit journey I simply ignored dunnings, & told CA's wrong#, so I don't have past records.

DOLA: Maybe my March-2007 bill

Do you think they will delete NCO? I can pay 75%, but this amount might be jacked up. I will pay if thats whats best. Should I send PFD or simply call?

thanx again
