lolah
I searched and searched and found that HSBC checks EQ in OH. Thiat is my best report with only 2 negative accounts that are 2 years old. So, I took the plunge and applied. Both of those accounts are fraudulent and I sent EQ the FTC ID Theft paperwork to delete. They needed to verify info, which I thought was a good sign. I went through the series of questions, was put on hold and then DENIED. Maybe a reconsideration letter would work?

lolah
Which HSBC card(s) did you apply for?Best Buy. All the research I did showed that they check EQ in OH and people with scores LOWER than mine (yes, FAKOS) with negs were approved.

All the research I did showed that they check EQ in OH and people with scores LOWER than mine (yes, FAKOS) with negs were approved.Best Buy is strange. They pulled EQ for me as well. I first applied for the BB store card, was denied but approved for the MasterCard. After I got the denial, I pulled my EQ report and saw that there was a judgment on there that was invalid, disputed it and got it off the report. Applied again for BB store card. Instant denial. The letter; however, stated that for the specific reasons for the denial, to call. I called, they say, "You're approved, we just need to verify some information." I ask, "Is there a FA on my report?" "No, we just get a lot of fraud and need to verify information." I say, "What do you need to verify?" They say, "We need to call you back on your home phone." I say, "Fine." I get a call and I am asked a couple questions about accounts on my CR. I'm told, "Great, you should be receiving your card in about 7 days."Your situation could be similar. They asked me a series of questions in order to "verify" my info before giving me the big N-O.I don't have a home phone...I remember reading somewhere recently about someone else being denied for the same reason. merkurfan
I have NEVER got past HSBC's indentity check. never... i applied for and got a orchard card, but because TU gave me a FA I failed the identity questions.. I waited a few months, did my daily update at 9 am, no FA, applied for Orchard, got the "you will hear from us" next day I do my update FA again from TU! So again, I call in and try to awnser questions about people with the same last name as me (there are over 10 million of them in the usa!) and cars I have owned. Since I have owned well over 200 cars in my lifetime I can not be expected to remember all of them. failed again I am sure. I am thinking about suing TU as I have NEVER asked for one of the 5 FA's they have placed on my report and forwared to the other 2. Their FA has caused me to be denied credit. The I called back and asked WTF? I was told I was approved. That's when I was told that I needed to call from my "home" phone(which is actually cellular). They called me back and that was it. Got the card a few days later.

daveyzzz
I got the "at this time we can not approve you....." from Best buy. Do they ever reconsider if you call them?I got the "Your application needs further review" message from Best Buy online. I can't remember the exact wording. 15 minutes after applying, I got a call from an Indian sounding gentleman who approved me for a $500 BB Mastercard. No 1080 HD LCD for me this year , but maybe if I keep my nose clean I'll have an increase in my future. And hey - you can get a lot of DVDs for $500 ! merkurfan
Sounds like the OP failed the identity check using the lexus report. I stopped them dead in their tracks the third time they tried it. Told um flat out "Lexus/nexus reports on me are FULL of errors due to my common last name, can we use my credit report?" they did, I passed, I got my approval. ABaldbrotha
They are a "data furnisher" to the CRA's. Originally, they made most of thier business and reputation providing legal solutions for attorney's and paralegals. Some private investigators use them for "skip tracing" or to track people who don't want to be found. You should contact them and order a free report to see what they have on you. They collect data, s lot of it inaccurate, and report it to EX, EQ and TU. Got to the website and look at what they do.I ordered mine and was SHOCKED by the crap they had on me.________COLORADO DISPENSARY Edited May 15, 2011 by ABaldbrotha

Fizzle1979
I don't have a home phone...I remember reading somewhere recently about someone else being denied for the same reason. You maybe thinking about me. Citi asked for additional verification information I sent them my cell phone bill because I don't have a home phone and they denied me, saying they asked for home phone bill not a cell phone bill. After a letter to the CEO, telling him he was declining credit based on not having a home phone, I got approved.

I doubt that was the only reason...I guess I thought since my FAKO's were rising...maybe my FICOS were too. Got a little ahead of myself. Even the "easy credit lenders" won't approve me.
