I am trying to clean up my credit. I have about 18 collections.

Most of then recent - medical some a few years old. How should I go about disputing? Do I dispute them all or some? do I send one letter or diffrent letters? I m not sure how to handle. Please advise....

Hi Jamie Welcome!

Basically medical collections are like all the others. If they are paid you do have a small amount of other leverage.

Hope you have hard copies of all of your CR's sometimes they are not the same.

Don't know how much you have read but do a lot and here is a link from another board about medical collections that is useful. Read their information It was not just as clear as mud for me the first time around I had to read it several times. http://whychat.5u.com/hipltr.html

I am the eternal pack rat and keep copies of everything anyone ever sent me about credit etc. It does come in handy at times.

Make your self a game plan and a goal. Once your letters are submitted.

Relax to the best of your ability as Waiting gets to us all. LOL But that is all we can do. Hear from the 1st dusputes before starting another set.

Blessings

Jamie, Hi and Welcome :)++

Take the time to do alot of reading on this forum. Read the stickies and the credit repair primer in the credit repair forum.

Basically, you need to obtain all 3 of your CRs- the actual FULL reports from each bureau- so you get ALL of the information listed with each TL and not a synopsis

This way you can organize

I began by disputing negatives in "batches of 4 or 5" with each CRA until I had disputed everything.

Collections can be tricky- there are many things you need to know- such as the SOLs on these debts- you don't want to "wake" them and have them coming after you.

So, READ, READ, READ this forum
