isislc
After getting a secured card with BoA I decided to try and get a checking account with them too. I was approved for the checking account. Well, before the checking account, I had been making payments through my CU savings account religiously before they report to the CRAs. After adding on the checking account, this is where the nightmare began. First, I had to pay $25 to open the account, to this day I still don't have $25 in my checking account. As for my credit card account, I have still been unable to make a payment to it from my savings for 5 payment attempts before my due date although the money was still getting locked up as being sent from the CU. I was charged a late fee charge for not making my payment. Called and complained about it and it was removed. I finally decided to apply for a credit card and have a balance transfer made to get it cleared up while I had to also make a cash transfer to my new checking account from the CU account because there are deposit problems there too. Whew! Did I lose you yet?Well, today I called to find out where the money was for my checking account where I even gave them the confirmation number from the last conversation 2 weeks ago. Was told then that it would take 2-3 business days but still waiting. Then I was transferred to payment research to let them know what had happened and that there is a work around now. Again, I'm given different information about what they beleive has happened then I told them not to worry about it, I have a new workaround. So I asked about a correction being sent to the CRAs and a possible credit line increase if they couldn't fix it, got transferred to the credit department.I got one guy and then he said that someone else needed to take care of me so was transferred there. The girls started to answer the 2nd question and then I told her that she really needed to hear the first question because the 2nd question would have been in response to it. I explained to her the whole thing and she kept trying to say well this is what happened. I would then follow up with, yes we know that, it was addressed on so and so date, review the notes. That happened a few times then she put me on hold. She came back after 15 mins and said yes that there was a problem and they are still confused as to what happened. I told her that I believe I have a different workaround but I would still like my CR corrected if at all possible. Then she continued on to say that they couldn't because they closed my account. I asked her why it was closed since no one told me that. She said because of all the attempts to pay my card and the money never actually transferring through. I told her how could it be closed when every time I made a payment the money showed being in use at the CU and BoA, it bounces back from BoA but I can't touch the money in the CU for 7 business days. It wasn't like I could just send them a money order right away to pay for the account when it was their own people who sait to send another test 4 more times. She said she understood and saw that the accounts from the first payments pre-checking account and post-checking account matched. She would need to speaK to her manager who wasn't in today about re-opening the account but she couldn't see it being a problem.I betcha anything they are going to come back saying no on the account and I'm gonna be even more pissed since I need the damn card. Oh well, when it rains it pours I guess. So, the moral of the story is...DON'T MERGE ANY ACCOUNTS WITH BOA BECAUSE YOU MAY BE BLOCKED FROM MAKING PAYMENTS OUT OF BOA! Dre
Same here. I have a checking account and savings account with them. I also got the secured credit card through BoA, as well. I had the accounts before the secured credit card, but with the card, they open up a "savings account" to hold your money in it in case you don't make a payment. Sorry about this all happening to you, b/c I did get lost reading your post. It's horrible, but I hope everything works out for you.
LVMortgageMom
Same with me. DH bought a digital video camera online for about 3k using our B of A debit card. Turns out the company was very shady and after call after call and promise after promise to send the stuff and then to refund our money nothing was done. 1 call to B of A and they, the bank, returned the money back to us, no questions asked. Never heard anything about it ever again. Just recently, they refunded an overdraft fee charged to our account because of a delay due to the account being opened in another state. I had Wells Fargo for a while and I hated them. They charge you everyday that your account is overdrawn where B of A only charges you once. isislc
You know it hit me after talking to that CSR, the supervisor wasn't in, I'm gonna be with my family at my mom's and Thanksgiving is Thursday. Ohhh Noooooo they Dont!!!!! I called them up today to get it fixed. Of course I got swapped about between people again and I had to explain the problem all over again. I asked her why is it their departments don't communicate with one another when they are they same company? She said she couldn't read any notes the other depts put in, HOGWASH! I did a quick explanation, and as she tried to correct me, I just said been there done that. After about half an hour and her talking to her supervisor they are removing the locks to the account in 72 hrs. I'm praying that they didn't pull another credit report, it sounded like at one point they did but she couldn't confirm it.
CreditKitty
How odd. I have both a savings and checking account with BOA and the secured card. (which shows up in the same account the other two are on.)I've had no problems whatsoever, and always pay off my card by transferring money from my checking account. direred
At one point I had a checking, savings, two 99/500 savings accounts, and the two credit cards all happily co-existing in my BofA account screen. The only thing I had to be careful of was not to add $ to the 99/500 account savings because it wasn't transferable out.Now I just keep checking and the two cards there.
