Skrangs
YES! !! SWEEEEETTT!! Thank ALL guys and gals for your help! I just got approved for my 1st CC since I started detroying my credit 8 years ago! I've got a $200 limit with First Premier Bank. Grant it I still have to 'buy' it back by paying a pretty high intro fee, but I'm gonna pay that as soon as the card comes and get my positive TL's in the black by the end of December!! And to think I just started the repair process at the end of August!
cjsmith
Congrats! Its a perfect way to start the holiday season.
whocares
I would bypass first premier and go with Orchard secured...at least you would have most of your money available to spend. Pay the 200.00 to orchard as it does not report as secured...

Krash
BUT, you have to have a high credit line, and a low amount owed on the cards before they help your credit, also you must show a good payment history for 1 year on each new account before it helps, this is what i have encountered, but i have a chap 7 from 00, and three collections, 2 are paid but not deleted, I didn't know about the PFD back then, and my scores are around 670 to 690 on all reports, I am also going to be disputing AIB on two of my credit bureaus' because one CB took it off! Skrangs
I already have the Crown Jewelers one. But I'm a bit confused on that card. I believe I'm supposed to make an initial purchase with cash, then they release the $1500 credit line to me? Is that how it works? Anyone have any input on that? Amerikaner83
yeah...you make your first purchase (don't have to be with cash)....it's a down payment with a CC then the rest on your Crown CC. Pay the crown CC and then you've got the 1.5K reporting on TU and EX

Skrangs
Bam! Done! Just did a purchase with Crown. How long does it take before they begin reporting?
Amerikaner83
It took me about 3 weeks, if I remember correctly.Have you got the Sterling trifecta yet? Kay, Jared, and the other one? Might want to try that as well. www.kay.com for the first. You get one - you'll get the others pretty much right off the bat.
Skrangs
No, I haven't done the trifecta yet. Do they also have the same purchasing procedures? Should I wait the 3 weeks until the Crown account begins to report?

You get one - you'll get the others pretty much right off the bat.I personally tried applying to Kays...this is what I got.Thank you for applying for a Kay Jewelers Credit Account. We were unable to fully process your request for instant credit at this time. We will notify you via US mail of our decision regarding your request for a Kay Jewelers account within 20 business days. Does this mean that I got denied? Does it meant that I'll get credit via the mail?I guess I'm gonna have to write one of those letters to the CBs asking them to delete my inquiry...damn I thought I was good. I applied to Crowns though...but I needed them to report to EQ. Now I hear about the beef....argh!!!!!!!!!
