Been_Ponzied
I was a victim TWICE of two different kinds of rental fraud by landlords and these addresses are on all my credit reports. (I subscribe to Bank of America Privacy Assist and they are very helpful). I need to apply for a HUD subsidized apartment, and they do extensive background checks. If I lie and say I did not live in these two places, I won't get approved because HUD will find out I lied. I MUST GET THESE ADDRESSES OFF MY CREDIT FILE, as the landlords who defrauded me (looong story about how they did it but both were very serious). BofA says that the only way I can get these addresses off is to tell the credit bureaus that I am insured for Identity Theft, and hope for the best. Any idea on what I should do? Any idea on what I should do?TU dispute online. boom gone.EQ dispute by mail, should go bubbye.EX.. well.. good luck. Try online first, either through TC's dispute link, or EX's site if you have a report number. If it won't let you start a dispute for the address call and dispute them by phone. If they say no, keep trying (calling back) till you get someone that will dispute it for you.
ThisDernCredit
I disputed 3 addresses with Experian today, and 3 or 4 last month and they came off. The agents were reluctant though, and told me they were tied to a particular account and could not be removed, so first you deny that you ever lived at those two address, then if they respond by telling you they are connected to some particular account/tradeline or your credit report, you will have to proceed from there. You would then, unfortunately have to change the address with that creditor or account. Hopefully that won't be necessary.
merkurfan
I got my old address of my EX and it's tied to to tax liens.. So you CAN get them off even when tied to TLs..Yes, in 5.5 months, I will be disputing those paid leins as not mine
ThisDernCredit
You more than likely can get them removed even if they are connected to some particular tradeline or account. Some agents just tell you what they wanna. Thats why I insisted on removal of those old addresses.
