CICEROKID
HA!! Hi Willingtocope!! I really appreciate your help on this!! I am too in somewhat the same situation, I too am like many trying to recover from my credit nightmares...I do have a specific question for you if you dont mind...I was intrigued by what you said by calling the OC and talking too them...If my account is already placed in collection, and I am dealing with the CA how do I rectify this? If I pay the OC and get them to do a PFD request how do I approach the CA to do the same thing?? how legally can I get them to remove the information?? And are you sure that well I guess in my example that C1 will accept the payment and I wont get the same response you got?? how did you get the CA to remove the information after you paid off Captiol one?? Man I really really appreciate the help!!!
willingtocope
I moved you off to your own thread. You'll get more answers this way, rather than thread jacking someone elses...If you're already paying the CA, its a little tough to go back to the OC. You can call the OC and see if they're willing to work with you. Note that you're under NO legal obligation to the CA...its the OC that you had the contract with. You do, however, need to sort out exactly what you're dealing with. Does the OC still own the account, or has it been sold. Your credit reports would say "sold to another lender" and the OC's balance would be $0, if its been sold. Dealing with a junk debt buyer (JDB) or a CA working for them is a whole nuther ball game...
