CA falsifying to CRA's

I have a collection that i paid off . I paid the full amount they wanted and i have proof of that payment and copies of my CR that state the amount still owed before i paid it. the CA then reported to the CRA's as "paid, settled for less than full balance". I called the CA to see why this was. they said it was paid in full and my CR would be updated. I then disputed with the CRA's and came back "verified". They verified it being paid for less than full balance.

Sinse they verified incorrect information, is that a FCRA violation? do I have the grounds to sent them a delete or ITS letter?

Go ahead and send a letter to their prez - like a GW letter, you know? How you feel cheated by them, blah blah blah...

I did that already and havent heard anything back yet. What gets me is that they told me that i paid in full and their recoreds reflect that but yet when i got my EQ dispute letter in the mail on saturday, it stated that the CA reported as only receiving $280 of the balance when they actually received $328. they have now falsified even more information and I have written proof that they lied to the CRA's and falsified information.

There you go. Make copies, send them CMRRR to each CRA that you have a problem with and write in big fat letters "PAID IN FULL, SEE ATTACHED". Don't send you entire bank statement just the part that shows you've paid in full.

Wouldnt it be better to go after the CA and send an ITS letter if they dont delete immediately?. They have now 2 times "verified" with the CRA's that their info is correct. I have blaitant proof it is not. it is against the law to report false information. they have done this to EX and EQ. so that is multiple FCRA violations. My goodwill letter got no response.

I would rather have a deleted collection TL than a "paid in full" collection account. especially being as its only 3 years old. 4 more years as a baddie on my report hurts
