I recently challanged a collection from portfolio recovery associates that is 5 years old, that my ex spouse was rquired to pay, but bill was in my name. I haven't heard from them until i recently petitioned the major 3 bureaus to verify outdated information. TU deleted the collection, Experian did not, and then Portfolio sent me a new bill. This collection was a judgement. What are my options?

Normal SOL and Judgment SOLs are different. For Ark.:

STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS (IN YEARS)

Open Acct.: 3

Written Contract: 5 (partial payment stops the statute from running)

Sale of Goods: (UCC-2) - 4

Domestic Judgment: 10 - Renewable

Foreign Judgment: 10

Was the judgement for her or you. Your name on account implies you may be on the hook.

I thinking about tagging my bureau at the bottom explaining that the judgement on my bureau was court ordered for ex to pay, everything else on bureau is good so that might make a difference for a company to make a credit decision. What do you think?

There are many varying opinions about leaving a consumer statement on the bottom of your CR. My opinion? It's a stupid decision. You never want to give anyone any information that could potentially be used against you, nor do you want to make it look like you're making excuses for your situation. Others here may have a different opinion.

There are multiple threads about leaving consumer statements on your CR. Search and read through 'em. :)
