myscoresawful
I have seen a few results of my disputes with EQ and they are going to be verified.I will want to contact EQ for a MOV, but not really sure if I should send them a request individually for each one, or send them one letter listing all 4 disputes that had been verified? Amerikaner83
Ha.save your $$. You'll get this:Dear myscoresawful - Thank you for your letter to Equifax. With regard to your request for "method of verification", we contacted the creditors as they are listed in your credit report. Contact the creditors at the addresses on your credit report for further informationSincerely - Equifax
brokeinok
Yep... they need to remove the information on the site that says "ask for method of validation" since it's a complete waste of time. What I've done is write the OC and demand proof of their listing. Most don't keep those detailed records beyond 12 months (except Discover.. they must own a small country where they store copies of every statement dating back to the invention of the wheel ).Most have responded in writing that they don't have a written record of the late payments or whatever. Then I just write the CRA, attach a copy of my original dispute and their "verification" of it, attach a copy of the letter from the OC and state sweetly and politely that I would really appreciate their fixing their records because I'd hate like crazy to have to go to court to enforce my rights under the FCRA. Has worked like a charm for me and I've removed the late payment reports on 15 accounts in the last three months, had 9 accounts completely deleted, one charge off changed to paid as agreed and a fifty point bump in my score.
