No new report after Disputes

Recommended Posts

It used to be when I would dispute items with the CRA, I would receive a report of any changes (deletes, updates etc), as well as a current (full) copy of my credit report. However, lately I have just been getting the page listing the changes. Anyone else experience this?

I think Experian sends you a page showing updates and with that page you can go to their web site and obtain a full credit report using the information contained on the page they mailed you. I think you should see a report number and you use that information to obtain the full credit report.

I guess basically EX is being cheap by not printing the full report and mailing. They save on paper/ink and postage.

Well you know that if you have one report number from EX you can obtain a full copy of your EX report without paying for it right?

https://www.experian.com/consumer/cac/InvalidateSession.do?code=DISPUTE

Enter the your report number, SSN, State and Zip and check the three boxes and BAM! Updated EX report for free! I've been using my same number daily for a few months now.

i just got a email i think, i know i had something showing where a charge off was deleted but i don't remeber getting it in the mail..

Well if you disputed online, you probably "agreed" to the fine print which said you would not receive a full credit report by disputing online. I could be wrong though. And that email they sent, should have listed the report number and with that, follow my advice above.

Worst case, call EX up and ask them for the investigation results and report number.

I don't. Can you get a free copy online after being denied credit? All I saw was an option to call to order one by US Mail.

After disputing information with EX they mail you a letter with a report number. Use that report number to obtain a free copy of your credit report daily by following the link in my previous post.

It's a vicious cycle. My "investigation" should have been complete Nov 20th. I never received a report and had to send a follow up letter. If I ever get that report, then I will use that number...

My suggestion, call EX up and ask them about the results and your report number. Say you never heard back from them.
