conner
First I suggest you read read read and do searches on all of your creditors and situations and Im sure that you will find that there are many other cases like yours out there. You need to determine which accounts are most important, more beneficial and more detremental to your credit report.I would start with trying to keep anything that hasn't already reached collections from getting there.I wish you the best of luck and welcome to the forum! It has been a great help for me as it has for several other people. We have all had to work very hard for our proress and I dont doubt that you are going to have to work hard too.Good luck! jetscarbie
ALLIED INTERSTATE INC HUDSON & KEYSE LLC JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYST MIDLAND CREDIT MGMT Who's the original creditors on these account?First off, I would start disputing all my Old address and error information like name variations and such off my credit report. Then I would definitely dispute all of the above I've listed. All these companies are scum and I would want to see some debt validation for the debts they are claiming I owe them. I would send all these companies a Validate Debt Letter by CMRRR. As soon as you get the green card back....I would dispute these with the Credit Bureaus.Search this site for all these companies.Keep good papertrails of everything you do. Make sure you keep anything that is not in collection...out of collection. This is just my advice.
razr
You're seriously f$%cked. Just kidding. I know it seems a little overwhelming, but your report is no worse than many that have been here. The other posters have given you good advice, I'll just add that it is doable, you just need to be tenacious and patient. And if you have a lot of beer, that might help too.Oh and open a Crown Jewelers account, you need to build some positive credit too.-r
stefdr
Jefferson Capital is a CA, they were on one of my GF's reports. It had been passed off to another CA and then did a PFD, it was a medical collection. Disputed it as creditor agreed to delete upon payment and it disappeared. pointman
I'm wondering why you closed so many accts - Cap One, HSBC/BestBuy, Target, WAMU/PROV... I'm assuming you wanted to keep from incurring more debt, which is admirable but... Closing accts will hurt your credit scores. It shortens the length of time you've had credit and it lowers your available credit versus the balances you have on the accts that are open, ie; Utilization. You might want to TRIAGE your reports; assess the damages and address the critical ones first. Those that can wait will have to wait. Address the critical; like conner said above, if you can, keep anything else from going to collections.Sketch out a plan so you can keep track of who you've DV'd, disputed and when. Whip out an Excel sheet or similar form that you can track when you sent letters and disputes, and when you should expect to hear from them. You'll need to give the targets their full 30 days to respond; hittin 'em again before 30 days and they get an add'l 15 days to address your claims. (They looooove when that happens)Take care of your POSITIVE accounts (Imagine seems to be your only one)Don't close anymore accountsDispute and DV in stages (workable numbers) Wait for the responses before you re-disputeSearch for the Flow Chart and follow itSearch - Read - RepeatIt may look unsurmountable, as in "You're seriously f$%cked," ahem, sorry.... but, there IS hope.
