blum1176
Americredit understands that our customers may have financial hardships. As you stated, in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, AmeriCredit is required to report truthful and accurate information to the credit reporting agencies, which we have done. Therefore, we are unable to comply with your request to remove the delinquent marks reported to the credit reporting agencies.I think I might just try and resend the letter on up the ol chain of command and TRY and keep a positive outlook. I mean the worst they can say is no. Right?

pointman
As you stated, in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, AmeriCredit is required to report truthful and accurate information to the credit reporting agencies, which we have done.I'm getting ready to write a couple of GWs myself. I wasn't planning to imply that they were not complying with FCRA though. Were you following a sample or did someone suggest that line? Seems like you left them an "out" by letting them fall back on reminding you that they complied with FCRA, instead of having to tell you that they won't extend you the good will of removing a negative mark from your account. My interpretation of GW letters is that you acknowledge your missed or late payment, and now that you are current or PIF, you are basically asking them to politely remove that slight indiscretion on your part. But that's just me... blum1176
The reference was not to imply violations, but to counter their "we are committing fraud by removing negative remarks" the law states that IF they report it has to be accurate. Not that they are required to report anything.
blum1176
Maybe if I just flood their offices with emails and snail mail, they will just get tired of me and remove the items.
